Day 1

Paris, Yerevan

Departure from Paris. Arrival in Yerevan at the end of the day. Welcome by our local representative and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2

Yerevan, Garni, Geghard

Breakfast at the hotel. Panoramic visit of the city's sights: Matenadaran, Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, visit of the citadel of Erebuni. After visiting Yerevan, drive through the foothills of the Gegham volcanic range. Visit of the Garni temple and continuation to the beautiful rock monastery of Geghard. Lunch in a peasant house with a spectacular view of the Garni gorge. Discover the daily life of Armenian villagers. Participation in the preparation of the national bread "lavache".
Return to Yerevan. Dinner at a traditional restaurant in Yerevan and concert of folk songs. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3

Etchmiadzine, Zvarnots

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the city of Etchmiadzin. Visit of the Cathedral, the church and the Zvarnots temple. Then visit of the Armenian carpet factory in Yerevan. Lunch, dinner and overnight in Yerevan.

Khor Virap, Novarank, Tatev, Goris

Breakfast. Drive to Khor Virap, on the Turkish border. Continuation to Noravank. Stop in the village of Areni where a world famous wine is produced. Visit of a wine cellar and wine tasting. Lunch at a restaurant near the monastery. Departure to Tateva Monastery by the longest chairlift in the world (5165m). For more than a thousand years, the Tatave Monastery was the spiritual centre of the Siunian Kingdom and an important place of pilgrimage. Lunch, dinner and overnight in Goris.

Day 5

Goris, Stonehunge, Selime, Noradouz, Dilidjian

Breakfast. In the morning, you will take a nice walk in the ruins of the old Goris to discover a traditional troglodytic habitat. After the visit of the old town, a dive into antiquity with a visit to the remains of an ancient observatory. In the afternoon, visit the canyon where one of the most beautiful monasteries of the country is located. On the way back to Dilidjan, you will take the Selim Pass, where you will find the best preserved caravanserai in the country. You will pass through the forest of "Khatchkars". Visit of the lake Sevan and its peninsula with its two churches. Continuation to the city of Dilidjan which retains the special charm typical of northern cities. Dinner and overnight in Dilidjan at a local's house.

Dilidjian, Sanahin, Haghbat

Breakfast. A short walk in Dilidjan in the ethnographic district of Charamberyan. A short stop at the home of a family of the Molokan village, delighted to show the customs and invite to have a cup of tea from the real samovar. Departure for the visit of Haghpat monastery (Unesco World Heritage). Visit of Sanahine monastery. Dinner and overnight stay in Haghbat.

Breakfast. Departure for the town of Achetarak. Visit of a small church called Karmravor which opted for miniaturization. Then visit the monasteries of Hovhanavank and Saghmossavank. Lunch at a local's house with participation in traditional Armenian dishes. After lunch, visit of Amberd fortress. Dinner at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a city tour of Yerevan, capital of Armenia. Discovery of the Republic Square, and its monuments (exterior visits): the Government Palace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Post Office and the National Art Gallery. Stop in front of the statue of the "Botero Cat". Walk up to the esplanade of the "Cascade" to admire the splendid panorama of the city and the surrounding mountains. Continuation of the orientation tour with the Opera House (outside visit), the Victory Park and its statue "Mother of Armenia", the Kievyan Bridge, Baghramyan Avenue, the Presidential Palace, the Writers' Union and the Fruit Market. Visit of the Memorial and the Museum of the Genocide of 1915, black chapter of the country's history. Lunch. The afternoon will be devoted to the visit of the History Museum, whose rooms trace the history of Armenia from prehistoric times to the present day. Dinner at the restaurant and overnight at your hotel.

Climate and equipment

To visit Armenia, it is best to travel during the shoulder seasons to see the country. Either at the end of April to mid-June or mid-September to mid-October to avoid the rain, the stifling heat or the cold winter nights.

PASSPORT & VISAS
For your trip to Armenia, you will need a passport that is valid for six months after the return date of your trip.
