For many years, Padre Alberto has devoted himself to helping those in need: children abandoned by their families, the elderly abandoned by their children, unwed mothers, etc. He has built a centre to house them, with the help of the government, which he maintains thanks to local donations and generosity.

Day 1

Paris, Mexico City, Oaxaca

Flight to Oaxaca

Flight from Paris, with a change in Mexico City.
Arrival in Oaxaca, welcome and transfer to San Antonino to Padre Alberto's guest house.
Overnight at a hotel close to the centre.

Day 2-14

Oaxaca

Humanitarian aid

You will be provided with accommodation.
This is a small hotel, not far from the reception centre, where you will be accommodated with more facilities than at the Padre's centre, and run by people who also help him. All your meals can be taken at the reception centre if you wish.
The centre offers multi-bedded rooms around a large, bright dining hall and an infirmary. The building is relatively recent and pleasant. A small chapel adjoins the building and is connected by a door. Your help, without constraint, will be given at all levels in collaboration with the Padre and under his supervision. (Important: you must be able to understand and be understood in Spanish): canteen, shopping, DIY, research, looking after guests, etc.

Day 15

Oaxaca, Mexico, Paris

Flight to France

Transfer to Oaxaca airport, boarding and flight to France. Arrival in Paris the following day.

Comfort

You will be accommodated in a pleasant new building with multi-bedded rooms, a refectory and an infirmary.

Climate and equipment

The climate in Oaxaca is tropical, with an average annual temperature of 18°C. In winter, the nights can be a little chilly. In summer, it sometimes rains at the end of the day and during the night, especially in July and August. However, the showers last about an hour and the sun comes out again immediately afterwards. October to May are generally the hottest and driest months.

For your trip to Mexico, you will need a passport that is valid for six months after the return date of your trip (including children).

A member of our team met Padre Alberto personally during a trip to Mexico. He is a welcoming, generous and dedicated person who will open the doors of his world to you. You will have the opportunity to meet the local population and help them in a variety of ways. You will need to speak and understand a minimum of Spanish for this trip.
