Arrival at Zagreb airport in Croatia.
Welcome by an English-speaking guide.
Transfer to the small town of Samobor, very close to Zagreb.
Journey time: 30 min.
Check-in at the hotel, a listed historic monument located on the banks of the Samobor river, bordered by a magnificent promenade and just a stone's throw from the village's baroque square. The village is a popular excursion destination for the inhabitants of Zagreb, thanks to its typical setting and renowned restaurants, not to mention its culinary specialities such as salami and Kremšnita cake.

Day 2
Samobor, Kotari

Continue on to Klake village. Duration: 1 hour - 28 kilometres
You will first visit an ethnographic house presenting the original traditional way of life in the Žumberak region, the massif to the west of Zagreb. The inhabitants were organised into cooperatives, meaning that several families lived in the same complex of houses, led by the dean.
Walk along the "education trail" around the impressive mountain where the Okić fortress stands, with panels presenting the history of the site. You will pass through a pretty forest to the mountain hut, then a short, slightly adventurous climb awaits you to the summit where you will find the ruins of the Okić fortress (altitude 411 m.), which served as a strategic defence point, particularly against the Turks from the 12th to the 17th century, when it was abandoned. The summit offers magnificent views of Zagreb and the surrounding region.
Descend Mount Okić, then follow the path through the forest to the ethnographic house.

Continue by bus to the village of Kotari. Journey time: 10 min. - 4 kilometres.
Short visit to the small 17th-century Baroque church dedicated to Saint Leonard, its altars classified as a level 0 cultural monument.
Continuing out of the Samobor valley to the village of Plešivica.
Journey time: 10 min. - 6 kilometres
Presentation of the Jagunić family production, tour of the winery and tasting of 4 types of so-called "calm" wines and a sparkling wine with bread and cheese. All products are local. From their estate there is a magnificent view of the Žumberak landscape and the Zagreb plain.

Day 3
Kuterevo, Krasno, Ličko Lešće

Road to the village of Kuterevo. Journey time: 1 hour 50 minutes - 156 kilometres
Visit to the Kasno bear refuge. It is located in Kuterevo, a Croatian mountain village where volunteers are regularly active.
The refuge's mission is to restore the living conditions of brown bears in the surrounding mountain range as much as possible, and to provide a long-term home for orphaned bears (the youngest is currently nearly 2 years old) that would not have survived the loss of their mother without human intervention. All this to preserve one of the most stable bear populations in Europe.
Here you will appreciate the human adventure that is undertaken and the shared values.
Continue on to the village of Krasno at the foot of the Velebit massif, famous for its cheeses.

Continue to the Zaviždan entrance to the Velebit National Park. Journey time: 40 min. - 12 kilometres
Take a walk along the Premužić trail, named after the biologist who created it at the end of the 19th century. It offers unforgettable views of the Gulf of Kvarner as it winds between "dolmens with surfaces chiselled by the water". The path is a real human feat.

Continue to the village of Ličko Lešće. Journey time: 1h15
Settle into the hotel, a typical example of mountain architecture combining stone and wood, set in idyllic surroundings on the banks of the river of the same name, renowned for its purity and its 20 species of trout.

Day 4
Plitvice, Ličko Lešće

Drive to Plitvice National Park.
Journey time: 1 hour - 57 kilometres.
Visit the national park with its upper travertine waterfalls, the electric boat on the large central lake Kozjak and the lower canyon with the large waterfall.

Picnic in the park at a rest area where you'll also find a small bistro and bar.

Day 5
Paklenika, Trogir

Drive to Paklenica National Park.
Journey time: 1h30. - 113 kilometres
Walk through the narrow canyon with its high vertical walls and climb up to the Manita cave to visit the impressive chambers where the waters have created stalactites, stalagmites and stalagmata, creating a veritable underground cathedral of organic shapes.
Walking time: 4h00. Difference in altitude: 340 m.

Continue to Trogir. Journey time: 1 hour 45 minutes - 142 kilometres
Check into a small family-run hotel, a typical old stone house in Trogir's historic centre. As this is a small establishment, some travellers may be accommodated in other old houses of the same type, but still in the medieval city.

Hike to Napoleon's fortress, towering 227 metres above the town of Hvar. Continue along the chain of hills bordering the Hvar field and then down to Borča Bay. Swimming is possible. The route then follows the coast to Hvar.

Board the ferry boat for the village of Orebić on the Pelješac peninsula. Sailing time: 20 min.
Pick up another minibus and continue to the village of Kučište and hike to the church of Our Lady of the Angels, offering a magnificent view of Korčula and its archipelago. Continue to Orebić.

Continue up the Pelješac peninsula to the village of Ston.
Journey time: 1 hour 15 minutes - 58 kilometres
The village of Ston is famous for having the second-longest city walls in Europe, and is also famous for its mariculture, as it is one of the rare sites where the Mediterranean oyster has been preserved. You can also visit the old salt works of the Republic of Dubrovnik, which are still in operation!

Continue to the village of Čilipi in the Konavle region south of Dubrovnik along the listed coastal scenic route. Journey time: 1 hour 40 minutes - 74 kilometres
Check into a small family-run hotel with a swimming pool and restaurant. This is an old stone house destroyed during the war in the 1990s and now restored.

Cavtat, Radovčići

Hike the Konavle cliff path from Čilipi to Cavtat. The path takes you through Konavle's characteristic oak, pine and cypress forests while offering magical views of the sea and open sea.
