Climate and equipment

Bali is located in a tropical region and has only two seasons due to its location near the equator:

Dry season: May to October.
Generally speaking, the coolest and driest month of the year is July. June is a good option as everything is green after the monsoon and prices are attractive as the high season has not yet started.
Beware, there may be a few days of rain, but more likely to be at the end of the day or at night.
To avoid the mass of tourists, Bali is best visited in May, September or October, although you will not be alone.

Rainy season: November to April.
In January, rainfall is at its highest (it rains twice as much in the north as in the south of Bali).

The island has an ideal climate: the temperature (26°C on average) is pleasant almost all the time, and if it is hot, it is never unbearable.
However, you should be careful because even if the temperature is tolerable, you can get sunburned in less than an hour!
All year round, the sun rises around 6 a.m. and sets at 6 p.m. at the latest.

Health

Before your departure, it is recommended that you consult your doctor (certificate of good physical health) and subscribe to an assistance company covering medical expenses and repatriation, making sure, if necessary, that you are also covered for a stay abroad of more than 90 days.
Vaccination: it is advisable to have an up-to-date diphtheria-tetanus-polio vaccination.
Other recommended vaccinations (depending on hygiene conditions and length of stay): typhoid fever, viral hepatitis A and B.
In all cases, you should seek the advice of your doctor or an international vaccination centre.
Water: drink only bottled mineral water.
More information on the Pasteur website.

Formalities

PASSPORT & VISAS
For your trip to Indonesia, you will need a passport that is valid for six months after the return date of your trip.
