Let's take a first look at India! You'll discover this unique culture by visiting temples, historic sites and taking a stroll around the capital.
We will tell you the story of Mahatma Gandhi and visit the Memorial to this great man who changed the history of India.
Social activities in Delhi :
You will have the opportunity to visit a district of the city accompanied by young guides trained by a local NGO, which also runs orphanages where you can talk and play with the children.

Day 3

Delhi, Agra, Abhaneri, Jaipur

In the early morning, we reach Agra for a visit to the Taj Mahal, symbol of eternal love and the jewel of India. You can also admire the Red Fort, before setting off for Jaipur.
On the way, we'll stop at Abhaneri, a fabulous multi-storey well dating back to the 9th century and particularly well preserved.
We arrive in Jaipur in the late afternoon.

Day 4-5

We will visit the Pink City, the historic centre of Jaipur, and its monuments. We will also visit the outskirts of the capital of Rajasthan to discover the main forts that overlook it.
Our guide will take you on a cultural walk to help you understand the culture and way of life of Jaipur and discover its different districts.
We'll take the time to visit several temples dedicated to the main Hindu gods, and tell you some of the myths of this religion unique to India.
Social activities in Jaipur :
You can meet social workers working in a shanty town, to understand the difficulties faced by the communities and how they can be resolved.
We will also take you to a village where a social enterprise trains and employs women in the carpet industry, to show you this sustainable economic model with a strong social impact.

Day 6-7

Jaipur, Shekhawati , Jodhpur

Accommodation : Home stay
Shekhawati is a rural region to the north of Jaipur. We'll start by visiting the village of Khandela, where you can discover a wealth of traditional crafts, and even try your hand at pottery or bangle-making.
We will then go on to Lohagarh, an important spiritual site for the Hindus and the setting for an essential scene in one of their greatest epics.
You will be staying in Khirod, with a family who run an organic farm and respect Gandhi's philosophy. You can share their daily life, cook with them and discover the history of their ancestors.
We will also visit Nawalgarh, a small town with splendid palaces and dazzling frescoes.
We will then take the road to Jodhpur.

Day 8

Jodhpur has two nicknames, the Blue City, in reference to the colour of the walls of the old houses, and the City of the Sun, due to its incredible exposure. The main monument is the Mehrangarh Fort, with its history and impressive water treatment system.
You will also visit Umaid Bhawan, one of the most beautiful palaces in Rajasthan, and take a stroll through the city's markets.

Day 9-10

Johdpur, Jaisalmer, Delhi

Accommodation : Home stay
We visit the Fort and the city, with its superb havelis (old palaces) and the magnificent group of Jain temples. We then begin our excursion into the Thar Desert. After visiting several temples, you will enjoy a camel safari through the dunes until sunset. You will spend the night under the stars after enjoying a meal typical of the communities living in the desert.
After a final stroll by the lake and through the bazaars to discover the handicrafts of Jaisalmer, we will set off for Delhi.

Day 11

Return to Delhi and then to France.

Last chance to find souvenirs at Palika Bazaar, an underground market where you'll find everything - but beware, negotiating skills are a must!
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.

Accommodation in guest houses is sometimes rustic but clean and authentic.

Climate and equipment

Climate
The country's seasons are marked by a wide range of temperatures. However, there are two distinct zones: the semi-desert west and the more tropical east.

Winter: December to February - Summer: March to July - Monsoon: July and August - Autumn: September to November.
The high tourist season starts in October and finishes in March, while the low tourist season starts in April and finishes at the end of September.

Take simple, comfortable clothes with you.

Health

Be in possession of a certificate of good physical health.
To date, no vaccination is compulsory.
A certificate against yellow fever is required for travellers coming from areas infected in particular by the yellow fever virus. However, we recommend vaccinations against certain diseases such as hepatitis A and B.
Water: drink only bottled mineral water.

PASSPORT & VISAS

For your trip to Rajasthan, you will need a passport that is valid for six months beyond the date of your return.
A VISA is compulsory and has to be obtained before your departure.
