Climate and equipment

CLIMATE

In Laos :

The climate in Laos alternates between dry and rainy seasons. Between April and October, the monsoon brings heavy rains, particularly in the south of the country, damaging roads and sometimes making access to certain sites impossible. April and May are particularly hot (between 30 and 35°C). From July to September, the rains are more spaced out, but the heatwave is always present. November to March is the dry season, with less humidity and bearable temperatures that vary according to altitude. It can even freeze at night in the northern mountains!

In Cambodia:

Cambodia's climate is characterised by two highly influential monsoons, which alternate to mark the seasons:
From May to October, the south-west monsoon dominates, characterised by heavy rain and strong winds. It is very humid during this period. In contrast, the north-east monsoon, which blows from November to March, brings very little rain.
From April onwards, the heat and humidity become unbearable, but the best tourist sites will be less crowded and you'll be able to admire them at your own pace.
EQUIPMENT
- Bring comfortable clothes that allow you to be active (sports shoes, long-sleeved shirts, swimming costumes, hats, etc.) as well as mosquito repellent, a headlamp, sheets or a duvet and your toiletries, including a bath towel.
