Welcome to the Greens Ayur Center, an Ayurvedic centre in Kerala run by Dr Asghar, Ayurvedic Physician (Chief Physician, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine Surgery, Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy). Here the cure is carried out in complete immersion for a minimum of 15 days, although the ideal Panchakarma is at least 3 weeks. Depending on your expectations, an ayurveda practitioner in France (trained at the Greens Ayur clinic), a Humantrip partner, will help you prepare your treatment.

Course of treatment

Day 1: On arrival at Calicut airport, you will be met and transferred to the centre. Once there, settle into your room (available from 12:30 p.m.) and explore the centre. Then lunch. First 45-minute consultation with the Ayurvedic doctor, Ayurvedic examination and discussion of various health issues so that the doctor can draw up an initial treatment plan. Consultations with the doctors and discussions throughout the day. Dinner and overnight stay.

Days 2 to 14: Complete immersion, Panchakarma cure :

Meals are taken in 3 parts; tea: 2 parts; water with plants (as much as you like).
Ayurvedic medicine during the day offered by the doctor.
Yoga every morning.
Kerala rejuvenation treatments, 2 per day.
Therapist services.

At your disposal:

Library with books in English, newspapers, television and cable connection.
Free Internet service: 24-hour Wi-Fi.
Beach 10 minutes' walk from the centre.

Comfort

Simple but clean and comfortable rooms, without air conditioning (which can be requested but is not recommended during a cure), with individual shower rooms and hot water. Rooms are cleaned daily.

Female therapists for women and male therapists for men, trained in the pure tradition of Ayurvedic medicine, giving treatments with plants and oils made directly at the centre by a man of Ayurvedic knowledge.

Climate and equipment

The ideal period is from December to February, but a cure can be taken all year round (less crowded and cooler during the monsoon season).
Outdoor access facilities :
Clothes and spice shops ..... by taking a local taxi and asking at the chemist's or the bus (inexpensive, passing through the central street every 10 minutes).

Health

To date, no vaccinations are compulsory. We do, however, recommend: cholera, hepatitis B and DT Polio. Anti-malaria recommended.
Water: drink only bottled mineral water.

Formalities

PASSPORT & VISAS
For your trip to India, you will need a passport that is valid for six months beyond the date of your return. You will need to obtain a visa from the new office responsible for issuing visas since the beginning of 2008. We will be happy to help you with all the formalities.

Our opinion

You need to be prepared and know the panchakarma treatment process! Our practitioner's advice will help you with this process. The Cure is reserved for well-informed people!
Please note that reservations must be made at least 3 months in advance.
Note from Isabelle (practitioner, France): There's no need to overload yourself - you can find everything in India, including colourful clothes! After each treatment, you'll be given a cotton bathrobe. It's advisable to bring old clothes to the centre, as the oils have a fairly strong odour and you don't want to stain your favourite clothes. Kerala is a region with a large Hindu and Muslim population. It is advisable to wear clothing that covers the body. You are allowed to go out between 6.00 am and 6.00 pm, after which you must stay in the centre. Finally, it is advisable not to bathe during the Panchakarma period.
