Day 1
France, San José
International flight to San José from France
Our staff will be ready to welcome you at Juan Santamaria International Airport. Outside the airport, our French-speaking staff will greet you with your welcome pack and accompany you to your hotel.

Day 2
San José, Tortuguero
Very early in the morning (between 6 and 7 am), departure for the northern Caribbean part of Costa Rica.
A hotel coach will pick you up and take you there. Breakfast en route in the village of Guapiles.
You will then continue on to the pier where you will board a motorboat that will take you on an interesting trip of around an hour along the canals of Tortuguero.
Arrival at the hotel, welcome and lunch.
After lunch, you will visit the village of Tortuguero.

Tortuguero
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, you will be offered a guided walk along the paths around the hotel. Lunch at the hotel.
After lunch, boat trip on the Tortuguero canals. The order of activities will be indicated to you at the lodge, depending on the weather and park regulations.

Day 4
Tortuguero, Puerto Viejo
Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning, you will take the boat back to the pier and then the road to Guapiles, where lunch awaits you.
After lunch, you will receive your hire car and head for Puerto Viejo.
The journey from Guapiles to Puerto Viejo takes 3 hours.

Day 6
Puerto Viejo, Arenal Volcano
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you take the road to Arenal. It's a 5-hour drive.
You will be staying with a Costa Rican family in the Arenal volcano area. They'll share their daily lives with you and you'll learn all about Costa Rican culture.

Activities in the region include rafting on the Naranjo River (April to November), kayaking in the sea to Damas Island, horse riding, dolphin watching, walks in Manuel Antonio National Park, fishing in Quepos, and much more.

Day 16
Manuel Antonio, San José, France
Breakfast at the hotel. At the appropriate time, you will take the road to the airport. It's a 3-hour drive.
You will return the car to the rental agency near the airport. You will then be taken by shuttle from the agency to the terminal.

Dry season (December to April)
Rainy season (April to November), although rainfall varies from place to place.
Vaccinations recommended before leaving: universal vaccinations such as diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, poliomyelitis and hepatitis B.
Vaccinations against hepatitis A and typhoid are also recommended.
Rabies vaccination recommended.
Visitors from countries infected with yellow fever must have a yellow fever vaccination certificate. This will be requested on entry to the country.

Entry to Costa Rica requires a valid passport or national identity card.
If you come from a country infected with yellow fever, you will be asked to produce an international yellow fever vaccination certificate.
