When you arrive at Manila airport, our team will arrange your transfer to the hotel. Manila Hotel. Your guide will be waiting for you at the terminal exit with a sign bearing your name and will accompany you to your accommodation for the night.

Legazpi

Transfer to the capital of Bicol

Transfer to the capital of Bicol

In the morning, your driver will collect you from your hotel and take you to NAIA airport, where you will catch a one-hour flight to Bicol international airport, near Legazpi. On arrival, a driver will take you to Casa Simeon where you will spend the night.

On the way, admire the Mount Mayonone of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines, famous for its perfect cone.

Casa Simeon is an ancestral home dating back to the 1920s, located in Bacacay, on the outskirts of Legazpi. This historic house, built by Siméon Alparce, offers a blend of Spanish and American architecture, with period wood panelling and a decor that combines the classical and the modern.

After breakfast, discover the city of Legazpithe capital of Albay, famous for its majestic Mount Mayona perfectly symmetrical and very active volcano. Legazpi is a town of adventure and a gateway to incredible destinations such as Donsol and Naga.

  • Daraga Church Built in 1772, famous for its volcanic rock façade.
  • Ruins of Cagsawa Remains of a 17th-century church destroyed by an eruption in 1814.
  • National Museum of the Philippines The local market: Ideal for buying souvenirs and learning about local history.
  • Saint Gregory the Great Cathedral Erected in 1580, rebuilt in 1834.
  • Peñaranda Park Spanish square surrounded by historic buildings.
  • Embarcadero de Legazpi Waterfront complex with a variety of activities.

Day 4

Today, enjoy a unique and magical experience by swimming with the whale sharks. This 3-hour excursion is ideal for nature lovers, combining adventure with sustainable eco-tourism.

Main business :

  • Whale shark watching Donsol, in Sorsogon, is one of the few places in the world where these giants can be seen from November to June, thanks to ideal conditions and sustainable eco-tourism practices.

Before boarding, you will be provided with life jackets and snorkelling equipment. Enjoy complimentary refreshments on board while the captain and observer search for whale sharks.

Once you've spotted a whale shark, your guide will tell you when and where to enter the water. Swim alongside these gentle giants and capture some unforgettable memories. Please respect the local rules: don't touch the sharks, stay at least 3 metres away from the tail and avoid flash photography.

Today, enjoy a relaxing day at the hotel by the beach or explore the many activities Donsol has to offer. Here are some suggestions for organising your day:

Activities on offer:

  • Scuba diving at Manta Bowl Discover this 7 to 8 hectare area, ideal for experienced divers. Explore sites such as The Bowl, Rock Point, Shark Apartment, Tuna Alley and Sweetlips Place, and spot manta rays and whale sharks. Note: advanced diving due to strong currents.
  • Firefly watching on the Donsol river The spectacular sunset and firefly watching on a night-time boat trip. The tiny lights of the fireflies and the bioluminescent plankton make for a magical experience.
  • Night fishing for prawns Shrimp fishing: Take part in a traditional shrimp fishing activity called "sudsod". Using nets and lamps, join local fishermen to catch prawns in the authentic way.
  • Meal at Barracuda Barracuda: Enjoy a delicious fish and pasta meal at Barracuda, a restaurant run by a Filipino chef who has worked abroad. Choose fresh prawns and fish for a tasty meal.
  • Kayaking on the river Explore the Donsol river in a kayak and enjoy the natural scenery while doing some sport.

On the road to the Bulusan volcano!

This morning, your driver will pick you up for a day of exploration towards the Bulusan volcano. En route, discover the rich history and natural beauty of the Sorsogon region.

Stages of the day :

  1. Museo Sorsogon :
    • Historic site Former provincial prison restored as a museum.
    • Exhibitions History of Sorsogon, Philippine revolution, American occupation.
    • Facilities Amphitheatre, cafés and ten art galleries, including paintings by prisoners.
  2. Bigaho Ecopark :
    • Access Crossing a 750-metre bamboo bridge, bordered by protected mangroves.
    • Activities Walking, exploring soothing lagoons, rocky caves and views of Mont Mayon and the Gulf of Albay.
    • Services : Meals cooked with local ingredients, breathtaking views of the sunset.

After these visits, you will take the road back to your hotel on the slopes of the Bulusan volcano.

Today, explore the natural and cultural wonders around the Mount Bulusan. Here are the day's main stops:

1. Bulusan Volcano Natural Park :

  • Protected site Tropical forests, grasslands, hot springs and farmland.
  • Activities Trekking around the Bulusan volcano, kayaking on Lake Bulusan and observing the local flora and fauna.

2. Balay Buhay sa Uma Bee Farm :

  • Activities Nature activities: natural swimming pool, fishing, honey harvesting, gardening, hiking.
  • Accommodation and restaurant Experience life on a farm with dishes based on local produce, including homemade honey.

3. Dancalan beach :

  • Features Grey/off-white sand, countryside with rice paddies and mountains in the background.
  • Activities Swimming in shallow waters, nipa huts for hire, possibility of pitching a tent on the beach.

4. St Joseph's Parish Church in Barcelona, Sorsogon :

Island hopping and transfer to Matnog

After breakfast, departure for MatnogIt's about 1 hour 15 minutes by car to the southern tip of Luzon. On arrival, board a banca for a day exploring the surrounding islands and lagoons.

Here are the main stops on your tour:

1. Tikling Island :

  • Features Beach of white and pink powdery sand, surrounded by lush vegetation and rock formations.
  • Atmosphere Serenity with clear aquamarine water, ideal for swimming and relaxing.

2. Subic Beach :

  • Features 300-metre beach with pinkish-white sand, coloured by red coral.
  • Atmosphere Swimming: Relaxed and uncrowded, ideal for sunbathing and reading. Beware, the tides can make swimming difficult for beginners. Picnic huts are available.
  • To explore The Calintaan cave on the island.

3. Juag Lagoon fish sanctuary :

  • Features Private sanctuary for marine biodiversity, set up as a fish farm with bamboo enclosures.
  • Activities Swimming and watching giant clams, sea turtles, lobsters, sea cucumbers and oysters up close.
  • Mission Conservation of marine life without harvesting or commercial fishing.

If you want to explore further, return to the port of Matnog, one of the busiest in the country and a gateway to the Visayas. You'll have the chance to interact with local fishermen and discover an authentic aspect of daily life in this region.

Return to Manila via Legazpi

After a final breakfast at the Residencia Del Hamor Beach FrontIn the morning, you will leave the resort to drive to Bicol airport in Legazpi. This new airport, which opened in October 2021, replaces the old Legazpi airport in the city centre.

The flight to Manila takes approximately 1 hour. On arrival at Manila airport, if you need to change terminals, a free shuttle bus is available to facilitate your transfer.
