Arrival in Tashkent early in the morning (6.40 am). Welcome at the airport by the guide and driver.
Panoramic tour of the capital of Uzbekistan. Visit to the old town: Khasti Imam Square
with the Barak-Khan medersa, the mausoleum of Kaffal Chochiy and the Tilla Chaykh mosque. Visit to the market
Chor Sou. Visit to the modern city: Moustakillik square and the war memorial, the museum
Timurid History Museum, Amir Temur Square. The square of the Alicher Navoi academic theatre, the museum of the
Applied Arts.
Dinner. Night in Tashkent.

Arrival in Tashkent and city tour

Breakfast, then drive to Sukok, a traditional village 60 km from the capital. Stroll through the village
until lunch, which awaits you in a
local chaikhana (tea house). Departure for
a beautiful hike (difference in altitude +/- 300m) over
the small mountains of Tchotkol (alt. 1800m),
to the hidden Chachma spring, crossing the
small rivers, moorland and pine forest. Return to
village and drive to Tashkent. Overnight in Tashkent.

After breakfast transfer to the station
take the "Afrosyob" high-speed train
at 08:00 to Samarkand. Arrival at
Samarkand at 10.15 a.m., check-in at
hotel and discovery of the capital

the west towards Persia, the east towards China, and
the south towards India. Alexander the Great,
Genghis Kan were his conquerors and Tamerlane in
its capital. Its domes and mosaics
still captivate travellers
of today. Visit to the Ulugh Beg observatory, the Shakhi Zinda necropolis, a carpet workshop in
silk (suzani), the Afrosyob museum and the mausoleum of Saint Daniel.
The tour continues with the Syab market and the Bibi Khanoum mosque.

After breakfast you set off for
the Nourata mountains, passing through the region
Djizzakh and on to the village of Asraf. Arrival at

Comfort

In big cities like Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent you will be accommodated in 3* or 4* hotels and with local people in villages.
Meals are either at local people's homes, in restaurants or in local cafes.

Climate and equipment

Spring (April to June) and autumn (September-October) are normally the best times to visit the country. The weather is mild in April and the desert has a brief flowering period. In autumn, the harvest season, the markets are full of fresh fruit. For trekking in the mountains, the summer period (July-August) is best, but the weather is unpredictable and there may be snow on the passes.
The climate is characterised by considerable temperature variations. The temperature range can reach 20°C. There are also significant differences between the desert and mountainous areas. In the lowlands, the climate is pleasant from May to early June and from September to early October. In summer, temperatures are stifling: it is over 40°C in Tashkent, and 50°C in the south of the country. In winter (January-February), daytime temperatures vary between 5 and 10°C.
