At the southern end of the Vercors Plateaux, the whole family can come together to share great moments of relaxation in the heart of nature. Children discover the environment in a playful way: tree climbing, water trekking, wildlife observation, discovery of caves and small villages... Parents will appreciate the change of scenery and the serenity of a valley away from the hustle and bustle, as well as the delicious local produce: Clairette de Die, ravioles du Dauphiné, goat's cheese. This multi-activity family holiday reveals exceptional natural sites: the sumptuous Archiane cirque, the romantic Vallon de Combeau, the spectacular Mont-Aiguille. You will spend the last two days in the immensity of the High-Plateaux with our donkeys, companions with big ears: Prince, Mabrouk, Baptiste, Zoé, Cannelle...

Day 1

Martouret Park

Martouret Park

Welcome at 2.15 pm at Die station

Adventure course in the trees at the Martouret park then transfer to Châtillon-en-Diois.

2 hours of activities.
Night in a gîte.

Day 2

Hike in the Châtillon vineyards. Visit of a cellar and tasting of clairette de Die and local products for the adults, swimming in the river.

3 to 4 hours of walking.

Day 3

Discovery hike to the abandoned hamlets of l'Église or Le Serre

Discovery hike to the abandoned hamlets of l'Église or Le Serre

The afternoon is devoted to water sports in the Comane canyon. For the little ones, a trip to a secret waterfall in the Diois. Transfer to the Archiane cirque.

3 hours walking. 2.5 hours of exploration for the canyon.

Day 4

Archiane Circus

Archiane Circus

Walk on the discovery trail, observation of vultures and their nests; discovery of small waterfalls; visit of the hamlet and exploration of the Tournières caves.

3 to 4 hours of walking.

Day 5

Highlands Nature Reserve with donkeys

Highlands Nature Reserve with donkeys

We leave for two days of autonomy with donkeys, excellent travelling companions for the children and carriers of our luggage. We head for the Bergerie de Chaumailloux, an incomparable viewpoint on the Mont-Aiguille, home to ibex and chamois.

4 hrs walk.
Overnight in an unguarded mountain refuge.

Day 6

Back to Combeau

Back to Combeau

Superb itinerary at the pace of the donkeys in the wild places of the Reserve: Bergeries du Jardin du Roy, Pas de la Coche. Meeting with the marmots at the foot of the Montagnette.

5 hrs walk.
Transfer to Die station and separation at 5pm

Comfort

Accommodation during the tour

- 4 nights in gîtes: shared rooms (rooms with 3 or 4 beds, or even 6).
- 1 night in a private unguarded refuge in Chaumailloux: basic comfort, night in a dormitory. Mountain atmosphere guaranteed.

 

The meals

- Breakfast and evening meals served in the accommodation.
- Picnics at lunchtime are usually prepared by the guide, using local and often organic produce, and sometimes by the accommodation.
- At the refuge, your guide prepares the meal, a helping hand is more than welcome!

Climate and equipment

Summer weather in the mountains

All your belongings are divided between a small daypack and a soft travel bag with a padlock that is carried from one accommodation to another.

- A swimming costume and a towel for swimming.
- Water-safe trainers for water trekking (avoid sandals and water shoes with slippery smooth soles that do not protect the ankle).
- Breathable underwear
- A fleece jacket
- A waterproof and breathable jacket

- An anti-theft pouch, to keep with you at all times, with your identity papers, money, insurance and assistance certificates

Pharmacy

- A small individual pharmacy to be validated with your doctor: sun cream, adhesive tape and double skin, antidiarrhoeal, analgesic, eye drops, cough medicine, broad spectrum antibiotics, tweezers, personal medication.
