Between Nature and Gastronomy....

Breakfast at the hotel

Minibus journey to Zagreb. Journey time: 45 min. - 34 kilometres

City tour with a local guide, including admission to the Cathedral and the Museum of Croatian Naive Art

Free time

A popular typical lunch at a microbrewery to get a feel for authentic city life. You'll have a very original choice of beers:

Continue on to Klake village. Duration: 1 hour - 28 kilometres

You will first visit an ethnographic house presenting the original traditional way of life in the Žumberak region, the massif to the west of Zagreb. The inhabitants were organised into cooperatives, meaning that several families lived in the same complex of houses, led by the dean.

Walk along the "education trail" around the impressive mountain where the Okić fortress stands, with panels presenting the history of the site. You will pass through a pretty forest to the mountain hut, then a short, slightly adventurous climb awaits you to the summit where you will find the ruins of the Okić fortress (altitude 411 m.), which served as a strategic defence point, particularly against the Turks from the 12th to the 17th century, when it was abandoned. The summit offers magnificent views of Zagreb and the surrounding region.

Descend Mount Okić, then follow the path through the forest to the ethnographic house.

Walking time: 1h30 - average difficulty: 25 (the ascent of Mount Okić 35) - difference in altitude: 100 m. level: easy

Visit to the Kasno bear refuge. It is located in Kuterevo, a Croatian mountain village where volunteers are regularly active.

The refuge's mission is to restore the living conditions of brown bears in the surrounding mountain range as much as possible, and to provide a long-term home for orphaned bears (the youngest is currently nearly 2 years old) that would not have survived the loss of their mother without human intervention. All this to preserve one of the most stable bear populations in Europe.

Here you will appreciate the human adventure that is undertaken and the shared values.
