Day 5

Tour of Mont-Aiguille or ascent of Mont Aiguille (optional, to be booked when you register)

Tour of Mont-Aiguille or ascent of Mont Aiguille (optional, to be booked when you register)

We'll take a tour of the emblematic mountain of the Vercors, which appears sometimes as a slender needle, sometimes as a vast dolomitic wall. It's at the Col de l'Aupet that we'll really get to grips with these exceptional landscapes.

For those who have chosen the ascent: the itinerary is that of the normal route with the descent via the Tubulaires followed by the abseiling of the Freychet. It requires the use of mountaineering equipment (harness, rope, helmet, karabiners, etc.) which is provided by the mountain guide. This route is not technically difficult (3+ max climbing); accompanied by a mountain guide, it is accessible to all, even those who have never climbed before. Duration 7h (ascent + descent)

7 h walk. M: from 1150 m. D: from 1150 m.

Night in a hotel**.

Day 6

La Richardière - Maison forestière du Château (1050 m.) - Die

La Richardière - Maison forestière du Château (1050 m.) - Die

We enter the Haut-Plateaux du Vercors nature reserve once again via the Pas de l'Aiguille, a major site of the Resistance. Perhaps we'll be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of chamois, ibex or even the wolf, which has been back for a few years now. End of our itinerary via the Pas du Pison or the Pas de Chabrinel, the route of the transhumant sheep.

6 / 7 h walk. M: from 800 m. D: 800 m.

Transfer to Die station and departure at 5pm.

865€

Additional service: Ascent of Mont-Aiguille

Those who wish to do so can make the mythical ascent of Mont-Aiguille, which was climbed for the 1st time in 1492 by Antoine De Ville. This ascent takes place on D5 instead of the Tour du Mont-Aiguille scheduled for that day. It must be ordered at the time of registration.
The itinerary is that of the normal route with the descent via the Tubulaires followed by the abseiling of the Freychet, requiring the use of mountaineering equipment (harness, rope, helmet, karabiners, etc.) which will be provided by the mountain guide. This route is not technically very difficult (3+ max climbing). Accompanied by a mountain guide, it is accessible to all, even those who have never climbed before.
However, you should be able to practise an endurance sport (e.g. mountain walking) for around 5 to 7 hours.
A mountain guide can take a maximum of 4 people with him. If you are more numerous, it is possible to provide several guides.
To reach the summit of Mont-Aiguille and come back down, it takes around 7 hours for a party of three or four people.

Maximum 4 people per guide.
- 1 person: €380 per person
- 2 people: €195 per person
