Climate and equipment

A dry season from April to October and a rainy season from November to March characterise the Malagasy climate.
However, there are significant variations according to region: more humidity in the east, with a very short dry season, and on the contrary a very hot and prolonged dry period in the south.
Cyclones can occur between November and March.
The best time to visit Madagascar is during the dry season, avoiding the months between June and September in the East, which still experiences heavy rainfall at this time.
Bring walking shoes for the hikes as well as clothes adapted to the humidity and heat.

Health

Up-to-date vaccinations.
Anti-malarial treatment recommended.
